ABSTRACT
Karthik
MVK, Syed H, Goswami T, Shukla P., Model and
molecular docking substrate stabilization of Microsporum
canis keratinase, Online J Bioinform,
13(1):33-40,
2012. Keratinophilic fungi vigorously degrade keratin. Keratinase of Microsporum canis was modeled
with an accuracy RMS Z score of 1.432 using PROVE software. Molecular
docking between modeled keratinases from species of keratinophilic
fungi viz. Microsporum canis with different types of keratins as substrates
was performed with scores of -451.89 kj/mol and -262.37 kj/mol, respectively. Arg1031
is conserved in keratinase while interacting with both keratins
Key words: Keratinophilic
fungi, keratin, keratinase, Microsporum
canis, molecular docking.
