Designing
of drug for removal of methylation from Tcf21 gene in lung cancer.

gene in lung cancer, Onl J Bioinform.,

(1):149-155, 2009. Tcf21 is a specific
tumor suppressor gene associated with lung cancer. This gene is inactivated
because of CpG hypermethylation
of the promoter region. Removal/inhibition of methylation could prevent
metastasis. This work describes DNA-ligand docking for removal of methylation.
Computational approaches were used to dock drugs with methylated DNA to remove
methylation by converting 5-methyl cytosine into cytosine. The in-silico
docking results showed that decitabine, a DNA binding
drug, could remove methylation.
