ABSTRACT
Maitra A, Sharma R., In Silico PCR for single
nucleotide polymorphisms associated with caprine meat quality, Onl J Bioinform., 22 (1): 18-27, 2021. There is a close relationship between polymorphism
in several genes with carcass and meat quality traits of beef cattle. Markers
in leptin calcium-activated neutral proteases and calpastatin
genotyping panels are used for marker assisted selection for beef quality. We
report a PCR for single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) in a large set of
candidate genes associated with meat quality from 7
breeds of 6 goats each from different regions of India. Due to the
importance of these polymorphisms, there is a need to develop a simple method
for PCRs assay for laboratories without adequate facilities. We report a simple
In silico PCR-RFLP assay of meat
quality candidate genes in goats.
Key Words: In silico,
SNP, goat, meat quality. Raw data
provided.
